I've been wanting to do a royal portrait of this personal empress character in the spirit of the symbolic paintings of Queen Elizabeth I....and partially make something that, when passed through terrible ps1 jpg scaling, looks like it could be hung in an early silent hill level.

The detail you packed into this is phenomenal! The decorative border is just as impressively rendered as the character. Nice work!

aw thanks! yeah i was debating with myself on whether to put a real description in or not. I feel like I don't write very broad and concisely, i'll wait until i have uploaded more of these story pieces and then i might do some revising and a journal update. It is my goal to get more of this specific concept art done this year.
I love the way you don't compromise with hands and feet, and the clothing folds are excellent. Not to mention the background looks so natural I almost missed it. This isn't something that appeals to me aesthetically, but the amount of work that went into it is very apparent. You're a one-of-a-kind artist here on NG.
