Social media is addictive and most of us overdose

brains just go comatose

Cause its so easy

Everyone saying they got this depression

But its really this scrolling that made them dependent

What did they expect, we were only 11

What did you expect when you gave us a bottomless pit of the pleasure that our brains stay craving

And now they're debating if we went insane and if we were the problem and we didn't make it

But look what you gave us, like this is what made us this way and you turned a whole generation into a battle of alphas and betas

But they really played us cause no one was winning

Fight videos in our feed and they're wondering why we're so violent

This shit didn't come out of nowhere

They blame us and say its about you, about me

But they don't point fingers at silicon valley

The don't give a fuck if we're losing our team

They making sure zuck is still getting his cheese

Destroying the millions for 10 peoples greed

Comparing yourself when you’re taking some rest

To people whos posting when they’re at their best

We all part the problem, but we’re all the victims

And the people thats winning are cashing their checks

It's really no question that socials be causing depression and it's not a side effect it's their intention

To hijack attention, To keep us in mentions and keep asking questions

And giving us all the wrong answers

Im proud of myself then see a post that says that i can't even manage

Go to a concert and all you see cameras

Can't cut if off though, i wont even know what these people be talking bout when they be having their convos

So i put up with all of these posts of these people who go on vacation in condos

Not gonna make this too long so lets get to the heart of the issue

This won't go away by itself they probably gon try to dismiss you

Gen Alpha is screwed if it keeps going like this, we gotta protect them dont want ‘em to be like us

These companies making this money off kids like we’re oil or coal but they’re gonna exhaust us

Most of us feel like they already lost us, and we lost each other

Internet beefing is breaking up brothers

I know we can do it, i know we can reconnect, none of us trapped to the internet

Really just sad that Its so deep inside our society we can't get out of it, we need some help
