Sick work. Gotta melody that sticks and does have a final boss kind of vibe. Great collab.
NG says this is 6.66 mb. So I guess it's metal enough?
Collab between @SkankyMojo and yours truly, using nothing but Shreddage II Guitar/Bass, Bo's guitar, and the Take My Cymbals kit. Made with love for @Jozarto and the Ultimate Dragonball Finale.
You can grab Take My Cymbals and all my other sample packs free on Beatstars.
Stay tuned too. The next edition of Adrean's Music Producer Freebie Mag is around the corner: April 15, 2024. You can expect literally HUNDREDS of gigs of samples and lots of free FX. I say this as I'm not through writing, but we could feasibly break into terabytes at this rate.
Perhaps my datahoarding is getting out of hand. >.> But for the sake of all the broke bois and bedroom producers out there like I used to be, it's worth it! Last Freebie Mag.
Behind the Track:
Okay, so story time, this piece was commissioned in 2018 for @Jozarto's UDB series as a boss theme for a villainess, or rather super badass, femme fatale type arch nemesis to the main character. However, it's ALSO a theme for the protagonist who defeats her, because she ends up living inside his head and lending him her demonic powers (hence the laughter you'll hear sprinkled throughout).
I wrote the draft from a set of lyrics I had from the time and sent it off to @SkankyMojo and @acrxss, the latter of which said it could use some work. Well, work on it Bo and I did, and this is the result!
If you aren't familiar with UDB, now is the time to dig in before the big finale. Jozarto, his creator's namesake here on NG, is prolific; you'll have plenty of time to get used to him. And as for Jo and I, let's just say we've been mutual fans for years. You'll probably recognize some of my old catalog incorporated into later episodes and catch some of my reviews in the portal. We met some time in the middle of UDB's early days on one of my metal tracks, two laptops ago, sparking a flurry of creativity. He gave me my first paid commission for ten bucks around that time, and that really changed my life!
You can check out @Jozarto's sprite animations here or on YouTube. Here's the latest!
So, how on earth did this track end up taking almost six years to produce? Simple. My laptop fried. Lost all my guitar, bass, and drum libraries, the project files. And then I went into the army for 4 years. During all that I lost contact with Jo, who at that time had stopped working on UDB with similar life stuff as the main culprit. But it was always somewhere in the back of my mind -- the regret of NOT finishing the project, especially with it written out and ready to track.
It bothered me so much that I eventually tracked him down and asked if he still wanted it, and he did, so here we are. Luckily, I was just in time for the finale!
I have to give extra special thanks to @SkankyMojo for taking the piano lead line I wrote on top of the demo and turning it into freaking slick lead lines, and @Jozarto for giving me so much inspiration through the years. Seriously, you guys are legends. I'm always proud of you and everything you accomplish. Here's to all the years, and hope there are many more! <3
Sick work. Gotta melody that sticks and does have a final boss kind of vibe. Great collab.
You can thank SM for making an old midi file of mine into a full lead guitar line. Ty!
The melody is excellent, and the atmosphere is great, very well created. There's a ton of style and a great description detailing the story of your track. The piano line by @SkankyMojo is great. It's awesome that you can remember your first paid commission. You're really good at writing about the stories of your experiences with music. A super thanks to @Jozarto for being awesome. It's great to have amazing friends with whom you can collaborate with.
@ADR3-N It's amazing how much well-thought-out and effortful writing you have in your music. I am intimidated by the amount of information you are able to organize. You're very skilled in your writing as well as your ability to create music.
this sounds like Rock Club from Scott pilgrim vs the world the game which is one of my favorite games of all time
Oo. Which one?
It sucks I keep hitting your music when I'm on my tablet, I've been wanting to say how much I loved that dnb you did a while ago, time passed, here we are today. Sick track, awesome work. I'll listen to it again later when I have a better sound get-up but I'm not missing an opportunity this time to say "fuck yeah, shit is tight."
If it sounds good on the tablet, that's good enough for me! After all, that's what mastering is for. Now, if it's actually good enough to go out and get the proper sound system going, that warms my friggin heart
Also, I just wanted to say that before I was any good at this music biz, I always looked up to you for insight. You've inspired me a lot through the years. Poke me with a track would ya?
