Qshunt - Comfortably Numb

A really old tune that I started and never finished back in about 2010. I found it while I was going through my near on infinite list of Ableton projects that date back to about 2006!

I've pretty much saved and kept everything I've ever started.

Anyhoo, this one was nowhere near completion but the limited amount of work I had done, inspired me to finish it properly. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

There is another version that is identical to this one, but with completely nonsensical vocals that actually sound amazing, but I haven't decided if i'll release it or not.

Anyway, like usual, if it gets enough love, i'll make it available for GD and download, etc.

Also, I got a new Orchestra VST and it sounds magical, and can be heard throughout the whole track.

Loving this tune, fits right into the liquid dnb playlist. Very upbeat, I think the guitarwork really shines through in this track. But, personal preferance, I wouldve not gone so far on the mastering. I feel like if you'd mix it down like -1.5db it would sound a bit better. Noticing a fair bit of overcompression on this render.

Really nice jam though, added it to my favs!

Qshunt responds:

Thanks! I thought the same thing, and released a second version that has vocals in it and is a better mix.
I don't make much liquid and I have a bad habit of making things that push -3 LUFS, as Dancefloor and Neurofunk are usually what I make.
This version was too loud, but the other version is pretty much exactly what you specified.
Thanks for taking the time to review and comment! It's much appreciated.

2006 year? You're lying! Haha, I'm kidding!
It just really sounds so good! I'm shocked! I would have put 20/10!

wowowowowow

This very good that you went back to your old projects to recreate this. Although judging by my information you started much later in 2010

Qshunt responds:

I started making music on a Commodore Amiga 1000 in 1989 running Noistracker, then OctaMed, and later on I started using Live in 2006!

Good stuff
