The website has always had this type of "brain rot" videos in general like if this was over a decade ago people would be saying mostly the same shit when it comes commentary videos like Leafy and it's hundred clones or even a few years before that where people were saying the same thing for rant videos. People in general are always going to beef or have a "doom" mindset.
Is this a joke? Those first six or seven years of Youtube was bored college students with cameras filming themselves hanging out with friends playing video games, folks reviewing childhood crap, and people splicing shitposts together in Windows Movie Maker, when seeing gameplay footage from a capture card instead of an awkward "camera pointed at the TV barely in focus" was a cool and novel sight... all THAT stuff was great. Somehow even with the presence of a video response feature there wasn't all that much serious drama going on. I hope that era's not becoming lost media or something.
When Youtube started tweaking the rules involving monetization every whenever-they-feel-like-it, there was a shift and people went from making & uploading to Youtube for fun, to cranking content out that was mathematically designed to get views and rake in cash.

The dumbest, most engagement baity take you'd see was a person insisting that Super Smash Bros Brawl is the worst game ever and Sonic '06 is actually a misunderstood gem of a game.
