Since I shared her here lately!
Can relate to the main post! As much as I enjoy both, writing "serious and cool" is personally harder than "dorky and goofy". I feel like the latter archetype - especially if they turn out to have a less silly side - is just easier to get into the head of.
Overall, I enjoy when characters have inner traits/aspects that contrasts heavily with their outward persona. Mainly, when a cute/dorky/funny character has a tragic side, and vice-versa; a tough or serious character with a not-so-serious side.
Best examples I feel that I can give for each is Amethyst from Steven Universe (is introduced as the "comic" Crystal Gem, turns out to be grappling with self-loathing and a lack of sense of belonging" and Meta Knight from Kirby (appears like a serious warrior, but is not immune to goofing off and has a taste for sweets).
In published fanfic terms, probably "The Once-Lonely Partygoer, & The Sacred Bug".
For context!
It's an Regretevator (the Roblox game) semi-swap AU fanfic. Specifically, swaps not personalities, but the past relationships between two pairs of characters.
The family of my Sona!
Respectively, a longbow, a short dagger, and a longer dagger.
Yep - can confirm a majority of my art is made of these!

Hope you didn't wait too long, I was already in bed when you sent that!
Anyway, yes proceed!
It's alright - thank you!
Name: Vesneering
Species: Fae
Age: Unknown; possibly her species' equivalent to a tween
Gender: Female
Nationality: Fairy kingdom of unknown name
Likes: Sunlight, sweets and baked goods, flora, mushrooms, mischief, satiating her curiosity
Dislikes: Unwillingly losing her glamour pearl, being offended/provoked/threatened
Fighting style: Trap and trick based - uses the flora to build up traps and do attacks with misleading natures.
Signature/finishing move: Glamour Cancellation - she takes out her pearl, turning into her real form (taller, plant-esque with a secondary pair of arms on her back) who delivers a beating with her four fists before turning back.
Blurb: A mischievous little fair folk who obliviously took a form similar to the one of a daring little wood elf. Watch out if she's feeling threatened, or if her pearl is no longer attached to her sweatervest.
Please send through google drive or the file dump so she doesn't get resized.
You mind if I send the Drive link via DM? Mostly for safety concerns

Yeah! It's a fun design with a vague-ish inspiration on myself.
Specifically, I based Myla on myself as a kid, with lots of her backstory aspects being based on my childhood as well, with some details tweaked. She started as just an mascot, but I developed enough lore for her that she can hover between being that and being a character by herself depending on the need (closest terms I can use to describe it is the "Author Avatar" trope).
I had the concept for "a elf with a sketchbook and pencil that can draw things to life" to represent me for a long while, but hasn't been able to put it in a design that pleased me until the 2020s.
Myla: A wood elf with a magic pencil and sketchbook who, despite her rose-tinted glasses worldview, introverted attitude, daydreaming habits, and naivete, genuinely means well and wants to understand and befriend people.

I found the topic's idea interesting!
If you don't mind it, I'll offer this art of mine.
Okely dokely!
From the artworks I posted here, definitely I consider these my highlights so far! ^v^
