The tablet price has fluctuated on Amazon based on various sales and coupons but so far I've bought 31 tablets for roughly $1466. This is exactly how I feel about having to crop 'mature' thumbnails with artistic nudity in them. Yes, I get it, 99% of the mature-rated section is oversexualized pin-ups (this is why we can't have nice things), but some of us don't include nudity simply to be a pervert, unless you want to tell me that classic Greek art is porn.

I essentially have to butcher the thumbnail of some images to comply with the current rules, and these days thumbnail presentation is everything. If it doesn't immediately catch someone's eye they're going to scroll past it like it doesn't exist, and tightly cropped thumbnails are a great way to have that happen.

I don't see the harm in having established members of the site usher content ahead that otherwise might stay in judgment longer than it has to.., if anything it will elevate the system and allow judgment to occur faster, making the barrier to getting out of judgment actually lower.

Still, I'm not overly bothered, though part of that is just sympathy for your plight. Have you ever considered doing first party ads? Maybe somewhat like how Royal Road does them (where they sell the slot to community members to advertise their work)? That could be another great supporter perk, and also they are much harder to hit with ad block. If they weren't overly annoying I bet they'd almost feel like a feature, rather than a pain.

Community ads might make a few thousand bucks a month but they won't pay for hosting and development. There are no plans to go back to ads at this point; it's Supporters or no Newgrounds for anyone.

I'll likely keep making the interstitial less frequent but they are definitely getting results, which is the most important factor at this point.
