Wait, who told you the movie was finished in 2013? Because according to Wikipedia filming didn't begin until 2024. Maybe they had the idea™ for what would be in the sequel all the way back in 2013 and typical filming hell made it take ten years to actually get out. Apparently Disney announced that the sequel was shitcanned in 2015 so they walked back on it. Yeah whatever they had drafted up in 2013 is probably unrecognizable from what we're going to see in October.
Shelving this movie for 12 years is insane lmao. Good or not it's probably going to get ripped to shreds by the critics who are beyond exhausted of all the nostalgia baity revivals that keep coming out.

Setting aside my anime vs "western animation" pedantry, you guys haven't seen enough French anime if you think Western animation doesn't allow for adulty stuff. You just gotta look in the right places. But same goes for Japanese anime. It sounds like you only watch Shounen Jump adaptations and Isekai slop if you think anime doesn't get experimental. Check out Mob Psycho 100, The Laughing Salesman, Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor, or Monster. There's also a ton of assembly line western animated slop too my man. The Canadian government offers grants to Canadian studios to just churn stuff out. It doesn't get more assembly line than that. Lmao
One thing I will admit though is Japan doesn't have a particularly visible indie animation scene. I'm sure it's there. Maybe they're all hiding on NicoNicoVid or something.

Yeah, and he was a creator of Captain Laserhawk at one point.
Captain Laserhawk was fantastic. They must've only had him onboard to slap his name in the credits for brand recognition.

"Trying to do another 3DS" is an insane suggestion. You think Nintendo wants to release a console that's unreasonably overpriced with a barren library of new titles on launch and they end up needing to save face by giving early adopters a bunch of free games?
A lot of things people hate Nintendo for being transparent about doing, a lot of the other companies have secretly been doing and hoping you won't notice. Video games have ballooned in filesize over the years and high storage capacity cards are expensive. Activision and Ubisoft have been releasing game discs that only contain a security key and a download link since the mid-late PS3 era.
Nintendo's also been clear that they'll still have physical cards that contain the entire game whenever possible. Also the NSO is $20 for basic and $50 for the expansion, not $60. You still get NES, SNES, and Gameboy with the basic plan, as well as cloud save and that cute little Nintendo Music app. I love my Steam Deck, but setting up the emulators and getting my hands on ROMs is a headache and a legal grey area that the layperson doesn't want to get into. That's where the Switch's niche lies. For at most $50 a year, you can say "fuck all those overpriced modern games" and play a pretty beefy backlog of retro games without needing to install cores or search for the right BIOS or play musical chairs with plugins.
The Switch 2 battery is fine. 6-7 hours is a long damn time for a single charge. The device is demonstrably more powerful than the Vita & 3DS so of course it's going to drain the battery more, but I have massive doubts that its battery could be any worse than the Steam Deck. Some games will bring the Steam Deck's battery from 100%-15% in under an hour on recommended settings.
I'm still interested to see how the Switch 2 will evolve over the years. Personally I'm never gonna use the Ninten-Discord or Ninten-EyeToy crap. The Joycons functioning as a mouse is fascinating. It almost feels like they wanna make this a stealthy alternative to owning a PC, even. I think the "virtual game card" feature will help mitigate expensive game prices somewhat. I'm probably never going to replay Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, so why not let me lend that digital download out to other people and save them some money?
Pricing rumors aside, the Switch 2 is shaping up to be what I wanted the Switch 1 to be on launch date, and the Steam Deck to me has has shaped up to essentially be a Switch on Expert Mode. It's rewarding as hell to get a non-Steam game running on Deck, but sometimes I just have to throw my hands up in the air, assume that everyone claiming to get it to work is lying, and then just boot up my Switch and play something I know is guaranteed to work right out of the box.
I don't mean to be a buzzkill but you shouldn't be looking at A or M-rated content in the first place since you're underaged.
In case you're not going out of your way to find content you shouldn't be watching, I know sometimes people will leave their porn on an E-rating when uploading it to the portal, in which case you should flag it for an improper rating. Vote zero if you want though. Unless it's just some flipaclip animation of stick figures humping it's gonna pass anyway. The cumbrains will vote 5 on anything pornographic.
Secrets that are so obtuse that you kinda doubt anyone could just intuit how to find them on their own:

Is it true the sales are never that good in the states?
Yeah as far as I know. I think all my first party Switch games are UK imports. They're around ten bucks cheaper on Amazon.
Before I even read the thread I started humming Tom's Diner. Good work, OP.

Yes + black Friday sale. The normal asking price was $200 (or around $360 adjusted for inflation). Still cheaper than the Switch 2, but the Gamecube also didn't have backwards compatibility or dozens of officially emulated retro games to tide you over between flagship releases.
Nintendo's always had cheaper consoles compared to the competition but with the trade-off being that they're a little stingier about dropping the games in price. $450 is steep, don't get me wrong, but the cheapest PS5 and Xbox Series models were both a crisp 5-hundo at launch.
Not sure if OP really knows what he's talking about. The WiiU was $250 bucks at launch and had no day 1 killer apps. The problem was that Nintendo wasn't clear on if the WiiU was a successor to the Wii or if it was just an accessory to it. Switch 2 on the other hand has a new Mario Kart on day 1 and a month after launch we're getting the first new 3D DK game since 1999.
I've long since accepted the reality that rentals and $20 Nintendo Selects are never coming back. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the #1 best selling game on the Switch and they couldn't even put it on sale during Mar10 Day lmao. But I still wouldn't call Nintendo greedy though. At least not greedy compared to Sony, Microsoft, Square, and Ubisoft. Nintendo only seems greedy because they never drop their games in price.
You don't need to own every Nintendo game, you don't need to own the tech demo, and it's not like they're increasing the price for NSO. Just wait for them to bundle a game that you're interested in, continue to use Discord voice chat for online gaming like you were probably already doing, find your nearest Gamestop or Best Buy kiosk to try out the tech demo, and maybe save up for those 2-game voucher things that get advertised on the eShop.
Personally, I'm going to hold out for the possibility of a Switch 2 Lite or a Crkd Nitro Deck 2. The Direct said that the Joycon 2s are less flimsy, but I'll believe it when I see it.
If you were to google "Video games that do not respect your time", you'll get Level-5's entire RPG lineup. Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, White Knight Chronicles, and Ni no Kuni are some of my favorite RPGs, but leveling up is agonizingly slow in all these games.

Just here to note that no game is priced at 90 dollars yet. It's missinformation going around.
I'll be completely honest with you... Whether we're getting a price hike or not, the fact that Nintendo games never go down in price is the bigger frustration.
Have you all forgotten that Mario games go on sale on MAR10 day? So no that statement is not correct. Yes, a lot of Nintendo games don’t go on sale often or at all, but they do put Mario games on sale for MAR10 and once Super Mario Bros’s 40th Anniversary comes around, there will be some temporary price drops for Mario games.
Yeah and then retailers do their own sales at times. Like most first party Switch games here have dropped to 54€ from the original 60€ and that is a permanent price drop in thosw stores. Then from time to time I see them at 40€ or so.
Did you guys know that Nintendo used to re-release their top selling games for $20? Not $20 off a regular $60 pricetag. Not $20 but only during the week of Mar10 day. Just $20. In the very least they could've put Mario Kart and Odyssey on sale for Mar10 Day. Sheeeeesh.

All those 3rd party games are gonna drop down to $30-$40 after a year or two. But I'm confident that DK and Mario Kart are gonna stay full price seven years from now when the Switch 2's successor gets announced.
I love being an annoying contrarian who defends Nintendo's anti-consoomer business practices, but if they don't sell the game key cards (or their classic single use game key scratch-offs) at a massively lower cost with the trade-off being that you can't sell them or physically lend them out to friends, they're really pushing it.
Switch 1 UK imports were a good 10 bucks cheaper than just buying them from the US. Idk if it'll still be the case now with tariffs ruining everything. We're sooooo screwed lmfao.
I'm not defending Nintendo's pricing, but let's also not kid ourselves.
Fuck yeah, GameCube NSO. I thought I'd never see the day. We're so back.
People have been saying "Deltarune Tomorrow" since February. The Deltarune fans took a leaf from the Switch Pro/Switch 2 theorists and have decided to just keep saying it's happening soon until it eventually comes out and they can say that they were technically correct.

Nintendo games already have it bad, but N64 has it the worst. I can't really recommend to just emulate because N64 emulation is still a hot mess. Your best bet might be to save up for an Everdrive 64.
PS2's secondhand market is better last I checked.
Anyways, OP, I strongly suggest emulating and only buy physical when you want to play them the OG way. What genres are you looking for? I can make some suggestions.
Genres... I really enjoy games with good visuals and sound. (friday night funkin, splatoon) When it comes to gameplay, I prefer 1st or 3rd person shooters. Since we're talking about older games, I wanna go with 3rd person and some good sounds.
Can't go wrong with Parappa the Rapper and Megaman Legends for PS1

Oh god. The Console RPG Makers... Playstation RPG Makers 1-3 and the Japan only RPG Tsukuru GB/Advance/SNES were my life back in the days before LittleBigPlanet. I taught myself just enough Japanese to be able to read the menus in RPG Tsukuru. I was even a lurker in an old Playstation RPG Maker forum. And this was waaaaaay before PS1 and PS2 emulation was any good so I just assume that they shared games by mailing memory cards to each other LMAO.

I was there back in the day when it didn't have any good documentation. It used to be daunting and not super worth it, but Godot is probably the best game making engine for an indie dev now. I've been using Game Maker Studio 2 for years. It has all these seemingly unfixable memory leak issues when trying to make a game for browser. I know if I lock in with Godot I'll probably never go back.
Absolutely! Newgrounds supports RPG Maker MV so if you ever actually do use it, you can even upload the game!
I actually held off on getting the Switch 1 for a few years. I had juuuuust enough money in college for either a PS4 or a Switch, and I came up with the ultimatum that if Nintendo doesn't announce Gamecube VC during E3 I'm buying a PS4 instead. I felt like a badass sticking it to Nintendo, unaware that I'd cave in and buy a Switch only a year or two later. LOL!
It was a solid console and I still have a few games that I've barely cracked open!
Most of my library is ports & remakes. Some of them were so bad that I'd fully believe that they started off on the damn Vita, but folks definitely blew it out of proportion. Nier end of YorHa plays amazingly.
I don't really have any hopes or expectations for Switch 2. Gamecube and DS NSO would kick ass. The obscure Ninty IPs I'd wanna see make a comeback are definitely not gonna come back. But we need a port and/or remaster of at least Kirby's Air Ride and Pokemon Colosseum & Gale of Darkness.
The Switch Direct wasn't bad either. I totally thought they'd quietly shitcanned Metroid Prime 4 by this point. Skeptical on Legends ZA but fuck me I'll probably buy it anyway lmfao.
Here's to the Switch 2 Direct announcing some good day 1 releases.
Not in the slightest. If people find my work to be too edgy then they don't belong on NG

Any annoying Nintendo NPC who talks too damn much. I was tweaking some settings in my 3DS and I got locked into an annoying textdump loop thanks to this melvin.
I'd knock his one tooth out if given the chance.
I wasn't too sold on the Tag Anywhere feature at first but when I watched the freaky pizza man play through it and have a final playtime lower than my playtime when I'd made it halfway through vanilla, that definitely changed my opinion on it.
