What's a game you personally despise that everyone else seems to like? Doesn't have to be despise actually, it can be dislike, find neutral, not have as much hope/admiration for, etc.
For me, it was unfortunately with Sonic Frontiers. Now before you gasp at me. It is not a bad game. Not at all! I love the free open world and the soundtrack and story a lot. Its moreso my preference for 2D and 3D linear stages rather than open world stuff. I also find that the guides for how to attack and use the powers you're given unnecessarily complicated, even with the practice mode. Perhaps I'm big dumb, but that's just my preference...I do like games with free open world styles, but stuff that is moreso easy to grasp and understand and with simpler controls. Like Monster Hunter Rise and Pokémon Sword/Violet/Legends Arceus. You get what I mean?
For the record, I am not talking about bad games in this thread - just ones you don't prefer and what makes you not like it. Be civil, people!!!
I'd love to see what you think.
Gotta be Hollow Knight, was just such an OK game I think it's one of the most overhyped games from the past two decades, there are so many other games (much older games too might I add) that do much more than HK but people just fuckin love this specific game where they put it museums and all that jazz and if you disagree with the hype or dare I say not like it, they will essentially slit your throat and go crazy because you had a different opinion for a game that's mid in the first place.

For instance, someone said that both Braid and Cave Story are good games but you usually won't find the normal player thinking about it??? with Braid I get it's a little more obscure but pretty much everyone has at least heard of Cave Story in some sorta way. I think Jonathan Blow is a good game designer, but I DO THINK sometimes he goes a little bit out of control with his opinions that half of the time I don't even know if HE knows what he's talking about, it might be some sort of autism thing but I'm not picking him about that, I know some people don't like him and I understand why but people need to show at least a little respect on the game, it showed companies that indie games can do incredible things and sure it's not the best game of all time but people just never actually research or have a second opinion on shit and just spew what random garbage they're thinking about first, I know it's just the norm on twitter but like come on...
I know people haven't really been responding to this post but now the common thought that twitter is saying towards classic indie games is that "they wouldn't work nowadays due to competition" which is such bullshit. If games like Pizza Tower and Among Us can be popular for a while then so can Meat Boy, FEZ etc. The reason WHY Braid anniversary edition failed is because the modern gaming community doesn't want anything new, they just want the same boring "hand drawn" Metroidvania, another fucking Vampire Survivors clone, another Retro-inspired FPS game etc, they don't like something unique and when they do such as previously mentioned Pizza Tower, they will only like it for a month and then shit on it. I'm done with this conversation and I think I'm done with Twitter, I can only doom scroll for so long until I question my sanity...

Listen man, you gotta know STUFF to develop stuff. just doing the same shit over and over again isn't art or a fun game in general. I also see you used AI art for your game "Paddle Battle" you also have to have an account for gd games in order to play it which shouldn't be required to play a fucking web game, the only game I see having like one little slither of hope that's sorta fun is Wave Defense Game. but other than that you're a joke.

The list includes David Firth, Cyanide and Happiness, Flashgitz, MeatCanyon Bridge Kids, Dick Figures, and a few others.
What are your thoughts? Do you think this will catch on?
Give it a chance, I think it could work...
