like if it goes for 25,000 it can be half off or 90% off just because it's an older version of something or because it's a holiday or lots of people actually bought it so it goes on sale.

Instruments aren't like appliances at Walmart on Black Friday where they go on sale just because they're in high demand. You'll never see something 90% off when it's new.

Any instrument that's good enough to be that expensive will rarely be marked down.

I'm also not sure what illusions you have about touring, but unless you're a well-established cover artist playing bars & pubs orrrrr you've got a solid original body of work, no one's going to book you for anything.

I think I'm with sorohanro on this one...

Nah, man. I think that release won't be out for a bit-- Armada screws around with schedules to their best benefit or something, but it's all beyond me.

grumble i'm just a sound effect grumble who cares

This release is with producer Angra Mainyu, who's on Andromeda/Elliptical Recordings-- this'll be the first release for his new side-label 7th Gate Recordings, and it *should* be out on Beatport first around Mar. 16. Not confirmed for sure, but it hits promo this week. Will let y'all know moaaar.

holy shit I've never done that and didn't know what to expect, so I went to the main forum to find a faic and hovered over it and nearly fell off of my couch.

By the way, you do vocals?

indeedy! /points to sig/ most of my pro stuff is for electronic music, but my roots are in everything else. and there're a couple of NG collabs I did way back when that are floating around in my favorite audio.

Shit, man, if I can't do vox for you, I at least try to offer con-crit so it wasn't a waste of your time & mine, because everyone has room to improve & it's how we all progress.

Apparently, that was beyond unwelcome. *facepalm*

Bjra has some serious ch00ns hiding out in all that craziness (and his craziness), and I still think a couple should've been pitched to labels. Kazmo, DJBrixx/Fierra and

for seriously generic broad-appeal music, Envy also does that well lolololol

Sounds nice, but fyi, if you're even thinking of marketing a song in the future, you might only want to upload a portion of the track (like a 1-min demo) onto Newgrounds. It's a free-for-all for the Internet under pretty unlimited Creative Commons-- people can download it & bounce it anywhere s'long as they credit you. Someone else could write lyrics to it.

MrMilkCarton is going! I'm in Boston fairly regularly, clearly I need to come visit.

goddamn, you guys are a seriously talented bunch. Berklee is an INCREDIBLE place to study music-- don't get beaten down by the pretentious competition and stay focused on your own music, and you can really thrive.

and don't become like BT. Brilliant, phenomenal producer, but serious asshole sometimes.

Response to: The Audio Forum Lounge Posted February 9th, 2010 in Audio

meh, I've been an active member of the local EDM scene for over a year & a half and I usually go sober to parties and stay sober from anything. I know I'm not typical, but goddamn, dubstep makes me want to fall asleep or shoot myself in the face from boredom. I haven't heard a song I really enjoyed yet.

Trance (and some house) is the only thing I can enjoy sober and dance so hard that my feet get blisters even in comfortable shoes, which is what happened last weekend when Marco V was here. hooooly crap.
