Response to: Block Builder 2 (Feedback Needed) Posted December 29th, 2011 in Video Games

Sadly im not a artist, I'm just a programmer. It would be nice if I had a artist to help me make some simple software though lol

Block Builder 2 (Feedback Needed) Posted December 28th, 2011 in Video Games

I started working on this a few days ago, yes I worked on Xmas lol Anyway, I think the game is coming a long pretty nice and I did listen to your feedback about block builder the orginal. So you should be able to see several adjustments as well as new addon's as recomend and a few art changes GUI wise. Please let me know your constructive thoughts are about the game please. Thank you in advance.

Sorry I could not show you guys more. Everything code wise is almost done, but the GUI side is not ready in certain areas so I felt it was best to not show you something that looked broken. I hope I can show you guys more very soon. Thanks fo the feedback.

My Adventure (rpg) Posted December 3rd, 2011 in Video Games

My Adventure
by UOK Software

We have been working on this for roughly two months now and I hope to be done soon. The game has over 70 different monsters, 30 levels, 400 plus items; crafting system, upgrade your home, mining system, lumberjacking system, travel system and more. This is the biggest VB 2d games I've ever made and I think it's pretty nice.

Target:
Ages 5 and up

Notes:
We wanted something that would be appealing to modern day but had a old school style/look. The inspiration and concepts are based mostly on Greek Gods and ancient cultures. Beta testing signup sheet will be posted on our website forums soon. Until then, enjoy the sneak peak.

Release Data:
No date set yet but expect to see it on sale early 2012

Response to: Big bad memory leak? Posted August 30th, 2011 in Programming

Just a tip, most mem leaks stem from poorly coded code. Hence why its best to leave your self good comments. If your not use Microsoft Express tool, I recomend you try it. It will likely help you find the mistake as well as offer better code suggestions. I hope those tips help get you back on track.

Response to: letter guessing? - UNIX Posted August 30th, 2011 in Programming

I would suggest grabbing a good reference manual on C sonce UNIX and Linux both are heavly based on C and use that to solve your problem above. We could tell you the mistake but its best to show you how to solve or find mistakes. I will assume your new to programming, so I suggest you buy a good C book to use as a reference. The differences between UNIX and Linux are small but can make a difference . I belive UNIX uses the old style of C or command driven style. As were Linux uses a more modern approach to C lang. I don't hink its object based but from what Ive read its fairly close. Only C++ aka MS baby is fully object based. But I could be wrong. I have not touched on C or C based lang in depth much yet. Im into VB and C#.

Interactive Comic Pilot Posted August 13th, 2011 in Video Games

Just wondering if anyone knows a good site to test a interactive comic pilot. I made a comic (data based) and I need to start gathering a reader base for it. Anyone have any ideas where a good comic site would be to start building a reader base of it?

Response to: World War I: Trench Maze Of Hell Posted August 3rd, 2011 in Video Games

Its not a FPS thought guys, its a mouse maze type game. You use your mouse to navigate through the maze. On the demo you dont get to see the rpg part but later on you have to solve puzzles in order to progress ahead in the maze. A example would be using a bomb or dynamite to blow up something in the way. I admit GFX suck but I dont have a artist but the concept is orginal and new. Other people whom reviewed it enjoyed the concept of the game. So I guess if you liked the demo, you might consider purchasing it when I put it up for sale on my site. Likely wont charge much for the game so dont worry. Anyway, that pretty much the game, its not going to win any awards but I found it be to be fun.

Treasure Of Times I (demo) Wip Posted August 2nd, 2011 in Video Games

My wife begged me to make her a Ispy type game so here is what Ive come up with so far:

Still very much so a WIP but the demo is playable with out any issues. Just read the instructions. So many emails from people about Enter code not working. Read the instructions, its case sensitive.

Fairly fun little game. Use your mouse pointer to navigate around in the maze. along the way, you will need to grab items to unlock other areas to reach safety. Here is the demo DL link. the full version will go on sale shortly. Post any problems or issues. thanks

Response to: Dead Right: Game - Programers Posted July 31st, 2011 in Programming

Not trying to blow your project out of the water but a 2 year project by a Indie company at best is not going to happen. In order to make a game, you need a crew you allready have established relations with for a long period of time if your going to attempt any long term project. For small crews I suggest you start making simple games like tetris etc to get the team organized and use to each other first. So whats going to happen if 6 months into this no ne likes each other any more? Or worse case, the project loses motivation? These are basic questions. You thought of good answers/solutions to these yet? These are common issues that will arise.

Me and my business partner have worked togethier for about 3 or 4 years togethier coding and we rarely seek others help. An we recently just started taking up big projects that take months to complete. Other wise we allways made simple games togethier. We never knew how long the business/friendship would last. So we invested very little into it in the begaining. We see now we work great togethier as a team so were just now going full speed on makeing software/games.

My suggestion to all of you seeking "Teams". Consider the long term effects and issues that will arise before hiring a perfect stranger. I don't know you so how can I trust you with a idea or peice of code not fully copyrighted yet? You can't and thats the point. Ive made some team requests on here my self but its primarly for simple stupid stuff I could honestly do my self. I am justtrying to find a possiable new member for my team. However, them becoming a partner will take along time.

Remeber as well guys paid or unpaid, its still uncopyrighted material. I don't know you. Who are you and why are we in court? I made this code my self. Show me proff you made this code. You can't prove it. Again your word vs. theirs and your out of money you paid him/her for a service. So golden rule if you can code the stuf your self, then do it your self. Unless your allready established and are just looking to attmpt to add on to your allready sucessful business. Basicly only add on to your team if you can aford the hit allready.

2D Map Editor Free Posted July 28th, 2011 in Programming

This is a basic map editor I made for whom ever want to use it or learn form it. Its fairly easy to build off of it if you have a basic understanding of VB 2008. I plan to use it on a few of my 2D VB apps in the future. I'll include both DL links incase you want to try it before you DL the full package. The Demo is just a exe file that will let you "paint" with the editor. In theory if I had tiles or "art" loaded into it instead of solid block colors you could start painting your map for a game. Which you could in theory again save the map or use it to start building the game client as well all in one program. Anyway here is a screenshot of the editor:

As you can see, its so easy once the images in theory are loaded in a 5 year old could paint your maps for you. The editor its self is partial in complete so whom ever can use it for what ever you want.
