I found a version of FL 3 when I was browsing Kazaa back when that was still a thing :0 Came over to newgrounds shortly after and just... made terrible song after terrible song in an attempt to learn haha.

Needless to say, I never did get nearly as good. But I still enjoy it. Would any one mind listening to a song I'm working on, and maybe give some advice on things I could do with it? Let me know?

...PM me? I'd love to listen to it :D

What happened to the forums? I see quite a few threads of people advertising their music and what-not? I always remember this place being pretty strict about rules. Is NG falling apart? That would be a shame. I always did like this site a lot for it's ability to share and communicate easily.

Personally I'm a ghost and occasionally I'll be reminded of this place and come lurk... see what you guys are jammin' about. Seems like social media is the "normal" way to have an internet presence... forums are not so much anymore.

If anyone cares I'm totally playing drums all the time and preparing my separate projects for getting on stage... got a show coming up on the 17th and I already performed one a while ago. Hopefully all this turns out and people come and listen :)

The first few I got were complete bullshit; offering high pay and then never responding. I just got used to not taking paid song requests seriously (this was in like 2006-2007 though). But as for working with NG artists, I've only worked with a couple and they were actually really easy to work with; and I wish I would have taken some of those projects more seriously. The other NG projects I'm a part of people just use my music and it's rare if I hear about them :/ Recently though I'm trying to make a track for these university students film preview, and they're being good about it; replying kind-of often and giving me accurate examples of what they want. I guess I haven't really had to deal with the shit yet :p

Response to: How Much Have You Improved? Posted May 6th, 2013 in Audio

I haven't improved one bit; I still make music by hitting my keyboard with a hammer.

Don't change what works though, right

On that note, where the fuck have you been?

Yeah, doesn't mean I can't be jealous though.

And I've been working. Allllllllllllllllllllllllll the time.

Taking a listen right now :) I miss the days that I used to waste playing video games and listening to trance. Well maybe it's not so bad not being a computer hermit (at least as much as I used to be).

Good shit! Good producing in each track, but shit I still have three more to rip through. I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I keep my music writing in a cycle. 'Cause sometimes, you get a good flow going on a track or two, and you really can't stop working on it. Others though, run into the wall really early. I can't remember the last I deleted a project ever, since those weird projects that don't seem like they're doing anything good for anyone are at least worth a listen to see if my brain has anything to contribute to those pieces. After I fumble around with the harder to articulate ideas, I go back to the songs that I know for a fact are going somewhere. Constant progress, and usually some gems come out of the shit projects. And sometimes shit comes out of what was thought to be the gems.

Pervokative Pervert Free Album Posted March 18th, 2013 in Audio

Pervokative Pervert

Alright, so I disappeared for quite a while, busying myself with mostly work. But in my so-called extra time, I never stopped listening to what was going on around me, and I especially didn't stop writing. As I was piecing together these tracks, I couldn't stop thinking that I'm eventually going to run into some kind of bullshit with my name (considering there is about three different successful musicians with "zenon" as their name...) so my brother and I figured out the name "Pervok", from "Pervokative Pervert" actually. So I thought that it would be a good idea to name the album after it. I toiled for quite a while, writing all kinds of different tracks for this album... there's some drumstep, dubstep, goa trance, trance, house, electro/complextro, and there's even an ambient track on there. For the better part of a year (maybe a little over for some tracks) I've been working on this, and I'm giving it away for free because first off... I want as many people as possible to hear it. Hopefully this catches somebodies interest, and I'm hoping that you guys don't entirely hate it either. Enjoy these 14 tracks :)

I realize that this should be something for a news post, but since I became a fuckin' ghost there'd be no way to show you guys the fruit of my labor, considering I used to frequent the audio forum for years. If this is whoring myself/spam then I apologize and will retreat into the darkness.

Where the hell have you been, soldier?

Fuckin' eight pages late, jesus christ. Ive been working slave hours, 10 hours a day 7 days a week at a drywalling job, writing music in my spare time. Been mostly trying to learn how to mix, but it's honestly difficult without equipment; but with the new job that will change soon I'm sure.

Response to: Psychedelic Trance/Goa Percussion Posted August 27th, 2011 in Audio

The most masterful high end percussion in my opinion was in Infected Mushroom's older tracks. If you listen to Classical Mushroom and even a few of their new songs (not off their newest album, it's like buttrock goa shit) show you that pretty much you can use whatever sounds you want to achieve the sound you want but you have to keep it consistent. From real drums to completely synthetic drums, you can honestly bend and rape sounds and it'll just make it sound more 'creative'.

Hi hats are like the building blocks of the complimentary rhythms that happen with all of your other percussion, so you should be more picky and tasteful with your high hats rhythms; not just 16th note repetition. Making cool rhythms with your hats will make it so you can come up with awesome ideas for whatever other auxiliary percussion you choose to use. Goa is trippy as all hell so just reflect that in your drums :)

Drop acid, fun for the whole family!

It's easiest if you find someone that uses the same program as you. I haven't done a collab in forever and the last one I did was in FL... cause I'm super outdated and use Reason 3.

Damn I've gotta upgrade
Response to: Why you make music? Posted August 22nd, 2011 in Audio

When I can't play my drumset, arranging is like the next best thing. But you can't write music on a drumset, so it gets the melodies out of my head. You know, cause I don't own a keyboard anymore.

You gotta download Speakonia, write what you want, export as .wav and then you can open it up in a loop player in FL. If you wanna get that effect that he has, you'll probably have to distort/bit crush.
