I usually expect that some fetish stuff will be asked at some point or another, and I guess my line is "illegal, uncomfortable, or character that just doesn't inspire anything"

First two because self explanatory, but the 3rd reason because some characters are either so weirdly design I can't draw them.. or they're just so plain I can't come up with anything for them

Other than that though.. I'm a decent go-to for art, I like to think 🤷‍♀️

She was originally based on some of the doomer memes and inspired from some of the music, but she quickly grew on me and she's now my main on most platforms nowadays! Still planning to expand her story a lot, but here she is! :)

I've seen a bit of this online, and a good note is that in a lot of cases, it's treated by the artist/host as a sort of just fun event, so people going too far (taking it further than joke/event/just fun) about it would be getting the usual treatment of getting blocked/reported and whatnot

^ These types I totally get

Though those who don't manage it in an event-y way, or mismanage it or some other weird stuff, they probably give the relatively wholesome ones a bad rep I imagine

People need to leave it at the line of jokes, fantasy and enjoyment. The moment they start getting legitimately nutty and parasocial about it, and trying to be genuine about it in creepy or self destructive ways, the person should definitely seek help, or seek some sort of self-awareness so that they can stop that behavior.

A couple examples for what I'd personally say is fine vs not fine (imo):

Let's say some random person is a huge simp over some anime character. Alright, let's say they draw that character idk smoochin their OC or some shit. Self-inserts to stuff is common enough, but it depends on the person who made/ordered it, and what their attitude is. If it's something like "yea this is just a fantasy of mine, kinda simping over this character rn," seems fine enough, they understand it's still completely fiction, as most people would understand it as

But then say a person in the same situation does the same action, but they seem kinda extra weird about it. Either privately or publicly, if they display really any of the behaviors you listed very well in the post, I'd say they're too far gone and need help. If a person really tries to claim stuff like "UUGH that's MY husbando you can't like him too because he's MINE and we're married" then they've probably got loads more issues than we're seeing, and probably shouldn't be on the internet

(the rabbithole of the "snapewives" and that one guy who married a png in japan are great examples of this lol)

I guess it's about the attitude, and what the person in action understands it to be

the only behavior from the list I'd probably excuse is lucid dreaming, but with the same "it's about the attitude" rule. The thoughts "this is real and another dimension omgee" VS the "I'm willingly playing pretend until I wake up since I can control this dream" do matter

Personally I'm kinda split on the topic. I kinda think of it in two categories:

1. A piece to express one's vent, something with effort
2. or a shitposty-vent with minimal effort or story

When it comes to the first type, these are usually have traits like being more profound, subtle, and at least some level of being cohesive, even if only a little.

This is the type I do love seeing, because even as a vent piece, it's a work of art and expression, and sometimes it can even be good! It can make for some relatable or similarly venting pieces for viewers to see and relate to. This type I welcome wholeheartedly, and I see no issue with

The one more akin to shitposting memes to me are the ones that usually lack finish, even the slightest bit of cohesion, and are SO all over the place that to me they just scream "I made this like this because it's vent art and vent art is crazy aaaa," but in a way that really isn't as personal or meaningful. To me, this looks like it's *purposely* trying to be bad or unrelatable, or a meme. A lot of these are the "just stick figures with over-the-top scribbles" ones. These to me are still fine, but they do feel spammy, and I personally wouldn't set these types as a main thumbnail to show in my gallery

:3 to all reading this, it doesn't matter in the end what type of piece you make, so long as you enjoyed making it, and it helped you vent! After all, that's sorta what vent art is for! ♥ nothing above is me stating right/wrong, this is purely just imo

I don't usually draw fanart unless I'm wanting to boost some activity & interaction, but I try and make sure I draw something popular at least every once in a while. A recent fanart piece I did was a collab (with the same goal, make fanart of popular character for online boost) and it turned out pretty well!

I loveeee using blue & grey colors as a combo! I did it in my most recent thing, and I've been super proud of it for turning out how it did! I know not everyone is a fan of greys, but I can't get enough of it lol

here's something I just recently finished, was trying to make get a "this could be a poster" look with it, lol

it goes pretty fast, too! I only started being active here on the 5th of this month, and got scouted pretty much within seconds of posting my 4th piece & already somehow have 28 fans, and have been getting more interaction than even some other places, it's been super cool!

I don't have any yet, but I'd love to get into making them! I usually just do regular art pieces, but I've recently taken on the challenge of making some comic pages, and seeing if I can make a story with it. A big issue I've been running into is trying to come up with the poses and dialogue, and trying to see how to make it more cohesive. I may try and make a storyboard soon and come back to this thread and share! :D
