First it looked like this as a WiP
Then I started rendering, but I got confused with the colors! I wanted to draw it as day, but I struggled to draw it good
So I just choose to draw it at sunset! A whole lot easier + it look better!

This was supposed to be one horse of many for an illustrated story or webcomic. The project was too time intensive.
As I drew, I irregularly made a new frame. Then I saved all the resulting frames as a gif. That's why this progress animation jumps the way it does,

to be honest, the first doesn’t really look like a sketch at all, but it actually is, that’s how I usually start drawings, then I make adjustments and add more details, and finally, render and color it all!

Sketches for a finished piece are like a proof of concept. If it helps you have a better grasp of what to do in the drawing, it’s a sketch. :]
