Welcome to NewgroundsTWOW Season 0, a writing competition game show hosted on the Newgrounds forums! This competition is kind of a test season to see if a TWOW competition would work with Newgrounds (because I've been wanting to host a TWOW competition on Newgrounds for a while now), and it'll that'll last a week or two.
It will also be pretty low dedication, as all you have to do is write 10 words every week or so!
How will NewgroundsTWOW work?
It's simple, and inspired by Ten Words of Wisdom by carykh: I will tell you guys to creatively respond to a prompt in 10 words or fewer, and then those responses will be shown anonymously to be voted on, and after that, the leaderboard is shown, showing the responses from best to worst, along with who wrote them! Each round, the worst performing contestants get eliminated from the game, and this repeats until there is one person left, and that person becomes the winner!
In TWOWs, contestants are represented as booksonas, which are books, but with limbs and faces, and inspired from Book from BFDI. You can either draw one yourself, ask someone else to draw one for you, or use Grey's booksona maker or Grey's booksona maker 2. If you're looking for inspiration for booksonas, you can check out booksona.lol.
NewgroundsTWOW Season 0 will only have 3 rounds:
Round 1 - 33% of contestants will be eliminated, the winner gets to write 2 responses for next round.
Round 2 - 33% of contestants will be eliminated, the winner gets to write 2 responses for next round.
Round 3 - Final round; whoever gets first wins.
Note that there likely won't be any actual prize for winning, other than bragging rights. If you don't respond to a round, you will automatically be eliminated.
The first prompt of NewgroundsTWOW is:
"You get to implement one bad feature to Newgrounds. What feature do you implement?" (example response: "Delete everything over 1 year old, because it's called NEW-grounds!")
To sign up for NewgroundsTWOW, simply DM me your response to my alt account @Slopgok2 , along with your booksona (optional, if you don't send one, I will use a default one; you can also make your "booksona" not be a book), before Saturday 1st March 2025. Make sure to respond in 10 words or fewer (note: your response will still be approved if you go above that, but it will say that it has over 10 words in the voting screens), and DO NOT SHARE YOUR RESPONSE PUBLICLY BEFORE RESULTS, USE AI TO RESPOND OR VOTE, OR USE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS TO RESPOND OR VOTE! You can only write one response, and it is also recommended to keep your booksonas and responses E or T-rated. M-rated content may get rejected, and A-rated content WILL get rejected!!
