As said before I’ve been improving my art style, applying realism, fundamental shapes and anatomy to stylize my art style more. Eventually, online friends were giving me advice to improve the recent Ava drawing and now it’s becoming a potential redesign for her. It then led to these two different version of Ava with two different hair styles, one with her typical shorter hair and the other with a bun. Which works best for her?

Both would be cool, and I kinda like buns more. However if you are going with the bun by first glance I can’t really tell the difference in the two pics, so you may want to think about making it a bit larger and drawing her in different angles to help with visualizing the difference.

I don’t know, it kinda depends on what vibe you want for the character.

I’d examine the front part of the hair as well - I notice some of the top strands are looking a bit weird, like they’re coming from the air. When drawing hair, keep in mind that it always originates from a point on the scalp. This is why I draw the head first and then the hair around it.

Someone please help me revive my clubs

I do draw the head first and then the hair around it too (anyone who doesn’t do that is a psychopath). I’ll give this thought since I feel like I can improve more
