Nice Game

Nice game guys. It is obvious that you put alot of time and effort into this submission and it really shows. Very enjoyable!!

Great refreshing highly styled game

Tip for everyone: ALWAYS buy in multiples of seven when possible. Every 7th item is free so you will ALWAYS get your best per item price in multiples of 7. Which multiple of 7 you buy it doesn't matter - buy 7 of an item, or 70... your price per item will always be the same. If you have to buy less than seven, buy 4 since your 4th item is free, too, but 7 is where your best cost per item is. In fact ironically your cost per item at a full 100 items is higher than your cost for 7 items.

Anhow...
I really liked the feel of this game - it just felt professional - and like there was a lot to explore in terms of feeling out the way things reacted in the game - it wasn't immediately obvious to me.

For what it's worth, I did notice a small bug where sometimes my stock would show "-1" on some items/shelves.

Good Game

I became a millionaire in two hours. Somewhere around May 2008 in the game. Hehe, feels good!

Here's some tips to how I did it.

*The moment you start the game, pause it, and buy your products and arrange them before you unpause it.
1) The first row sells things like fuck. Customers are guaranteed to pass by the first row, and guaranteed to buy at least something. Get everything priced above $200 there. Concentrate on making all four shelves up to 100 capacity and get it stocked full of the said expensive stuff ( Myself I put biscuits, meat, fish and pizza, all at 5 stars, 100 stocks and maximum price :D )
2) Ignore the marketing survey on what popular stuff are in demand ( the cheap stuff like carrots anyway). Get stuff like meat and fish ( which I said put in the first row ) to 5 stars and 100 stock cap. You will know what earning money is when Fish and Meat are in demand.
3) Build up shelves by the row. Considering the way customers move, they will pass by the entire row of shelves without turning back. So don't scatter your products, concentrate them by the row ( I only used the first and second row =/ )
4)Initially, you will struggle for a month or two. Don't worry, you won't lose if your bill checks you into negative. Its when the bill checks you when you are STILL in negative that makes you lose. So be brave, and estimate how long you will take to earn money to stay in the positive side. Then, upgrade and restock right before the bill comes. You will be laughing I promise you.
5) When you have eight shelves with eight 5-star products with 100 caps, buy things by the 50 or by the 100. You save a lot of money that way.
6) The moment you can afford it, activate marketing and voucher to get a steady stream of customers. That's when you have hit the $5000 mark, or $10,000 if you want to be safe.
7) Fast forward double speed when you have reached two-rows,eight shelves, 100 caps all and five stars all. That's when you only hear the beeps( cha-ching! ), and the only thing to do is to restock.
8) The game doesn't seem to offer many vegetarians. Meat-products sell like crazy. Vegetable stuff are just too darn cheap. So forget about them.

I had $150,000 approaching April 2008. In May 2008 I reached 600k O_O??? At the end of May I got my million.

My idea of how to improve the game and bugs :
1) It starts to lag halfway through the game. And I couldn't see what I had purchased in the warehouse ( I actually stocked up to 200 meat without realizing it. Fortunately I managed to sell it all off, and earning lots of shit!! HAHA!! )
2) Make scrolling between purchasing products easier. One moment I was buying fish, then suddenly found out that I needed biscuits. And then I found that meat was running low. Half the time was spent scrolling around, and then to realize something on the other side has run out. =/
3) Gameplay's a bit confusing until you get the hang of it. Try to make it simpler to understand ( I don't know how xD )
4) If I am not mistaken, the market survey will always show the same thing which is popular at that time. I couldn't get the hang of the game until 3 times replaying it, and I noticed all 3 times I had 'Cereal' as popular choice for... I can't remember how long. Somewhere around an entire month. Make it random if I am right to be more challenging.

Overall, good game. I give you a 4.25 ( unfortunately no such score, so I shall vote 4 )

Great review. I may use your little guide in my site in place of the current one. I will link to your user profile as a thankyou :)

meh

this is such a weird game, its really hard to figure at first (but that was probably just me). anyway i see you have put a lot of effort into the game and it is enjoyable, i just thank god for the mute button :)

weird stuff...

i read the tutorial and everything but when i do market research it says cereal so i buy lots of cereal. it tells me i cant put it on a clearly empty shelf because its full so i empty it and try to stock the cereal and it says to empty it again...BUT!it seems to have worked for everyone else and i have played games similar to this and it was pretty well done. good job.
