As a side note, when was the deadline pushed out? Shin and I busted our asses to push SC2 out the door on the 6th and I didn't even realize until 20 minutes ago that the deadline was extended.

It's strange if it works earning medals up to a certain point, and then all of a sudden for some reason it doesn't; also if you're able to go back and redo it and get the medal.

Sounds like they don't ping the NG servers regularly so the session time out and disconnect in the background

It's very difficult. Of course people want to lend a hand if they can. I don't think that should be Tom's responsibility though and it wouldn't be fair to ask that of him.

It's less lag if it's not through the browser it seems.

On another note; this may be completely unrelated, I don't know anything about api; trying to watch the yuyu with either the newgrounds player of ruffle doesn't work, it claims you're not watching it on newgrounds.

On the topic of fundraisers
Is there any forum thread or something for those? Idk, I've seen a few. There are also people asking for kickstarters for creative projects sometimes (like the documentary). These might be difficult questions: how are you to decide which ones to feature?
https://narratorway.newgrounds.com/news/post/1521740
https://adr3-n.newgrounds.com/news/post/1521558

this is difficult, i've known Tom for a while now and I can comfortably say the biggest factor is whether or not Tom has seen the post. He's a gracious guy and I fear we may be on a slippery slope to force him into unwillingly participate as a fundraising lynchpin for the community, many times of which lean more toward saving actual lives than prospective creative projects.

I think Tom features the emergency posts he sees, he's on the site most of the day in passing but he can't see everything cause NG is so huge, and for creative projects: usually they have some history or credibility behind them, so when the creators reach out to Tom with the request of a promo banner he probably feels more comfortable endorsing it then.

If you've never uploaded anything to the site and you ask him to promote your animated pilot kickstarter that sounds like a red flag and when it goes nowhere that would lower Tom's future credibility on the stuff he endorses being worth your time

"The children" went from being exposed to inappropriate sexual material to being exposed to misogynistic and degrading sexual material. That is objectively a worse outcome and trying to claim a partial victory because "correct" steps were taken along the way is ridiculous on its face.

Why did you edit my quote with your own summary of what you think I said? That's not the point I was trying to make and you had to rewrite it to make it sound like I said something dumb instead? The point I was actually trying to make is that the new 5th place entry was a previously unknown error, now known, that can also be corrected like the original.

Re-rating the original 5th place winner and then running the script(manually) for p-bot to do a re-roll(automatic, but with an added parameter to remove adult content from the re-roll) finally put what was 6th place in front of everyone's eyes and they reacted the same as when they saw the previous 5th place. Nobody chose that entry manually for 5th place so it stands to reason that the mod didnt even watch or see the replacement entry. What are the chances there'd be 2 re-rolls today? Let's face it, no one really looks at the 6-10th place hyperlinks cause they dont have a fancy css embed, so people looking at the dailies, like always, won't notice or flock to an entry outside the top 5

It's sad that even though qualifiers are put on speech to keep the sensitive from freaking out, they go ahead and freak out because they cannot help themselves. Bacun gets Frontpaged and put into Monthly Voting with sexualized images each month. This is a fact. EVEN THOUGH @TOM SAID SEXY CANNOT BE IN THE MONTHLY. I get Frontpaged practically monthly, and yet, I'm not in the Monthly Voting. Very strange. Perhaps I should change my characters' proportions to be more in line with the "Approved Sexy"? Can you give me some pointers since he's your friend?

I don't actually see how that's substantively different from my summary? Either way, I reject your framing of these as two independent incidents. An action that didn't need to be taken was taken and the overall situation is now worse. I don't care if people "didnt even watch or see the replacement entry" because I don't care about people's unknowable brain states except in-as-much as theorizing about it makes my ability to predict their behavior more accurate. I don't care what was in people's soul or that the odds "there'd be 2 re-rolls today" are slim. I care about outcomes. An action was taken, the situation is worse. Ergo: the action was bad. Your circus. Your monkey. Arguing that an action that made things worse is good because you can spin some wordcel causal narrative about how it seemed like the right thing to do or was the right thing "in isolation" is the height of mid-wittery.

i think you're reading too much into this. you and i disagree on whether action should have been taken. of course you'd think a second action should not be taken either. I'm just saying I disagree: let's do it again, let's bump it off the list for the same reasons I suggested we bump the first one

Of course I'm not throwing shade on Bacun. I just want to know why he qualifies for party membership butt (pun intended) not Gurumo. Is it that Gurumo's women are drawn more obviously of age? That's not on Bacun or his chunk style. It just seems to be a general delineator of what sexy art does and does not make the front page.

I think it's about context, bacun's pinups are suggestive, but tame. they show skin, but not any more than you'd see at the beach. animation adds a lot of context. the problem isnt that she's in a bikini i think, it's suggestive because she's shaking her ass at the camera as the main focal point. if bacun's character went from those starting poses to slamming their butt toward the camera you'd end up with twistedgrim posts. i think i'd like to see that from bacun, but anyway that's at least how i see it

I personally don't see newgrounds as an 18+ only site, it's everything by everyone and not just in motto. I didn't make an account on here until I was 18 and I've worked on several high profile NSFW projects over the years so I hope that lends to my credibility that I'm definitely not anti-horny, just trying to keep the horny away from the kids.

I think the fact that a minor's account which literally can't see Adult content seeing adult content is kind of a point here that proves itself in this discussion and saying to leave Mature content filtered is passing the buck on the issue

I think it's about intent, we established a precedent for low-effort horny-bait content and fetish content flying below A and Tom made it clear he'd prefer these users hit the checkbox to opt-out of daily awards. I still think a NSFW checkbox changing the rating to A automatically would be better than depending on the radio buttons deciding content ratings for you, but small steps.

NATA is really cool as a tournament, but each round involved less and less animators and if you missed a round you were eliminated which wasn't very accessible to people.
