My yesterdays drawing was a WW1 too... related to a 1980s horror movie franchise too. Woooohooo. Not made up one tho.
HIhihihi. Small world!
I mean looks nice even when just early wip.
Let me guess...Hellraiser?
This fucking guy
I'm trying to draw a movie poster for a made up 80s horror movie taking place during WW1, don't have much yet but here's an early WIP
Definitly Witcher 1 remake.
Hard choice but if I hzad to choose just one I'd say Witcher 3. It has this folk vibe that draws you into the game and gets your blood pumping.
Definitly my landscape/scenic paintings. From my impression scenery gets alot of attention here, probably because most of the art here is character art so it stands out.
There's also that study I did from an Aliens screen still, but I guess that's just because everyone loves Aliens.
Redone an old drawing of my Femshep recently:
WIP I'm currently trying to finish
bullshit, gamers aren't another species or something, why would a gamer need a special energy drink
Can't put a finger on it really, drawing just feels right and satisfying, no matter if I draw something new or something that already exists, like for a study.
Isn't completely new but I've decided to update and fix this old drawing of mine
Pretty average gaming rig, it's a few years old and still running a Geforce 1060(interestingly it manages to run older games with forced raytracing quite well despite not being a RTX card). I'm in the process of upgrading and will probably install a RTX 4070 or something like that soon, so it's gonna be able to run anything thrown at it at least for a few years more.
Probably the original Thief game(1st person sneaker playing in a fantasy universe), another game of the series was mentioned above with Shalebridge cradle. There was a level where you explored a closed off part of the city which had fallen to an unknown cataclysm years ago, with the abandoned streets roaming with spirits and undead, took me forever to get through it because I dreaded getting aroudn every corner. The game had amazing sound design and interesting lore, shame the series died years ago.
Her, drew her alot for a while but most of the drawings are outdated and I hardly get anything done these days, hope I'll have more time again sometime.
Just got something done again after ages:

is there like revival discord server or something
Oh yeah that’s a great idea, the same mistake twice lmao
Let this all be a cautionary tale about discord.
I've been MIA for sometime, what did Discord do in particular to kill the General forum? Was it users bringing their niche drama into the forums where no one understands it or what?
Seems like it, I looked through the recent threads out of interest and there's drama that I don't understand so I guess it leaked into the forums from somewhere outside(or maybe mods deleted some inflamatory stuff so things seem out of context). But General was also useless as a forum, like 90% of threads were brainfarts that should've been posted as a news update on user's personal pages or not posted at all, and consequently died after a couple of replies. There wasn't any actual conversation happening. I guess it comes down to the combination of General being crap and failing its purpose plus useless drama and thus not being worth the effort to moderate it and keep it around.
It depends on what I'm drawing, I usually listen to somethign fitting the theme to get myself in the mood.
SOMA, it's the only game that made me uneasy on an existential level. First person horror-adventure game.
I only have a single goal at this point now:
-finish a piece at least every few months

You could pretty much harass anyone there and get away with it because none of the people running it really give a shit. It doesn't make me convinced that their staff cares about their userbase as much as how many people are actually on there.
Incidentally dA General(deviants) is still better than NG General, despite the near absence of moderation. There's plenty long going threads and interesting discussions, unlike here where most threads were on the level of "Just shidded and farded XD" and other stuff that should've been a news/blog entry or never left the head of whoever posted it at all.
Idk exactly what makes the difference since I'm not here for that long, maybe there was an influx of younger users on NG that aren't used to forums/BBS and used them as personal blogs instead of for actually talking to each other, maybe the nested design of dA forums lends itself better to discussion, but it's interesting to compare.
idk what experience you had but mine was not pleasant.
I blame a racist south african cunt of a furry who decided to harass me over BLM because he didn’t agree with a piece I did. Granted, at the time my mental health wasn’t in check, and my views changed over the past few years but if you have to go out of your way to harass someone just because of that then you’re not in a position. to be talking about politics in my opinion.
Between that and the site layout changes I chose to leave. I just do not care for how that site is run and I found the place more toxic than here because of it.
Yeah the site lacks moderation(and many other things) but my point was that people there are using the forums mostly for the intended purposes, which is discussion and conversation, reflected by the amount of replies threads get and the time threads remain active. Unlike NG general which was used mostly for threads that died after like 10 replies and were about topics like people showing some mildly amusing meme they just found.
I get that but when it comes down to it would you rather have a site that has little to no moderation or a site that has it?
That’s the main problem I have with DA. I don’t want to have to deal with some cunt who can’t handle a disagreement over particular issues. How people use the general forum and whether or not the general forum is active would be irrelevant in that regard because it comes down to how people use the site overall.
I don’t like being put in a position where I feel like I have to say what people want to hear just because they feel like they can get away with bad behavior because of shitty oversight. That’s a good reason why I don’t want to be on DeviantArt.
You do not understand what I'm trying to say. I don't know if why since I've been clear about what I am saying before, but I'll try again. My point is not about moderation. I am not saying that you should go to deviantArt forums. It's not about you. It's a comparison of dA deviants and NG general to show how NG general failed at its supposed purpose and thus wasn't a great loss.
My point is that NG general was of little value because nothing was being discussed there, and little actual conversation was taking place there. Forums are supposed to be places of conversation. NG general was not a place of conversation, it was a place where people posted inane things that died after a handful of replies. This doesn't have anything to do with moderation. It means that the majority of residents of NG general had no intent to use the forum for its supposed intent, which is, as mentioned, discussion and conversation.
My point is that despite the substandard moderation dA forums, they are still better places of conversation as the people there(outside of trolls etc) are actually interested in the supposed intent of a forum, which I have mentioned already, conversation and discussion. Which is reflected by the long, ongoing threads there, and people there actually having discussions. They would be better with proper moderation of course(which unfortunately won't happen as the place is dying), but again, my point is not about moderation. It was about the purpose of forums and how NG general failed.

It's just a visual coincidence but the character reminds me alot of the Geth in Mass Effect, Legion in particular.
I've heard about this recently and will definitly use it, more artists need to know about this, thanks for the info.
This song from Witcher 3 quest 'Forefather's Eve'. The whole thing is so atmospheric, has awesome folkloristic vibes, and the song is so perfect, it's one of these game moments that give you goosebumps.
idk about the exact reasons but I hope the original outfit is still there as a bonus for fans of the original, like being unlockable for a second playthrough or something.
Setting and story/characters. The setting is what initially draws me in, and the story/characters is what keeps me around.
