I have a soft spot for Megas XLR. It's a little time capsule of what was considered cool around Y2K through the lens of somewhat period-correct 80's/90's nostalgia which the show would constantly spoof. It's a unique specimen of multi-layered nostlagia. But on top of that, it was simply a fun show with wonderful hand drawn mecha animation!

Wow okay, this thread is starting to get REALLY long ( ; •﹏•) I'm not sure if I can continue assigning drinks to everyone, but please feel free to take over my task and assign drinks to each other!

Basically the rules are the same, you try to guess the other's band and you describe yours as bad as you can.

I'll start with what I think should be an easy one!

Four LSD addicted dudes in their mid 20s that look fifty.

My only guess is Limp Bizkit but I know I am absolutely wrong. Here's mine.

My favorite band is a rock band that broke up, and got together again, only to break up and get together again. They're been making music since the 70s and still make music to this day. Their most recent album released a few years ago. If you can't guess them from this, I think I've done my job, but this might be pretty obvious.

Response to: Favorite Songs Based on Video Games? Posted August 1st, 2024 in Video Games

At 7/30/24 04:10 PM, PufflePoint wrote:I doubt this thread will get any traction, but I was just wondering what are some of the people on here's favorite songs based on games (a niche, yet surprisingly pervasive genre).

What I'd consider a song based on a game is pretty broad. It can be the theme song of to a show based on a game (i.e. Fastest Thing Alive from Sonic SatAM), have lyrics inspired by a game (i.e. that one Mega Man song by Jay Eazy that was memed on a while ago), lyrics directly about a game or games (i.e.Video Games [Tenacious D.]), a song about ""gAMeR" CulTURe" (i.e. Game Over [Falling in Reverse] aka "My Life is Like a Video Game") or some combination of all of the above.
Hell, even a song made for a game about the game itself counts (i.e. Dance Through the Danger from Shantae: Half Genie Hero)

Odd question, I know, but I found it interesting.

Intro theme to Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog - which combines "In the Hall of the Mountain King" with the Sonic 1 intro theme. Missed opportunity to reference the song in future games/shows/installments. Except for maybe OK KO.

I hold the show close to my heart, what can I say?

If I had to pick something else direct from the game - Dance through the Danger absolutely smashes through the rankings. A great intro to a fantastic game and my introduction to Shantae!!

Sir, is this a porn game? Or is this just a weird way to describe what's Buckshot Roulette? I mean, it has drugs, alcohol, and handcuffs, but there's not deer hunting rifle, but sometimes deer hunting includes shotguns and the game sorta has that gun model in those events sooooo...

  1. An ARG inside a game inside a game involves satanic magic, conspiracy and eventual death....just don't go looking where you shouldn't for clues.
  2. Son of an old demon lord has to do the job of the hero who's missing and meets up with his girlfriend. It involves a castle and then one in reverse.
  3. Unrelated members of the magical whip family travel through paintings to stop great evil from rising again.
  4. Heads or tails with a deer hunting rifle. Also drugs, alcohol and handcuffs. Ooh, kinky!

so! give me your first impression, but without any of the nice stuff and let's see what happens

here's my question:
on first glance, what's something what sticks out and makes you go "hmm, this wasn't done well" or feels "off" in general?

The only one I'd say is definitely parts of the face and the eyes need more detail. It looks flat compared to the rest of the art, which has more depth to it. Not an artist, but that's all I can really say. I'm sure others have similar comments too. Hope this helps! Have a wonderful day :3

God, there is so much I could say about this game but I'll keep it brief. charming characters, surprisingly deep plot points, exploring every nook and cranny of the house never gets old. and some good humor too.

LoZ: Wind Waker. Made me fall in love with Zelda. I absolutely love Toon Link. I also found the pig minigame hilarious. Would absolutely HYYYAAAAHHHH again.

May I submit embroidery as a third exception to the rule?
