So, the NSFW alert is for the fact I touch on some pretty heavy subject matter. Either through art or the story elements, history or what have you that my story has. Every world and story has a dark side, well, unless you just want purring kittens and rainbows. Which is absolutely fine, I'm a fan of that too, but this project of mine ain't that. Though, I do draw my characters in happy moments too so there is that.

Just wanted to give a heads up, themes are very much adult and cover a lot of deep topics. I try to handle such topics I don't have first hand experience with with the respect it deserves however. Also, I have a bunch of disabled characters so if that also bothers you for whatever reason, ya know, steer clear.

I'll start with posting older things, which I'll have to guestimate the time period on since when getting the new computer, it overwrote the dates when moving the files from my thumbdrive over. There's nothing between 2018 to this year, by the way. I had no ability to draw due to real life circumstances. Feel free to comment, I don't bite

This is the oldest I could salvage from my old laptop when it died in 2018. This was from 2011, 2012? This character is no longer around, but was playing around with perspectives and using shading that wasn't just white and black.

Well, technically last post I lied. Kinda. I have a year by year comparison of a character. He's getting a redesign AGAIN here soon, but he's one of my older ones. I really got the feet and hips to work and look different after 2015.

Starting to form the anatomy different in late 2014, but still struggling with colors at this stage. Still have the rainbow syndrome going on, though at least they aren't legitimate rainbows. And yes, on Leltgir's hat there... it's a language I wrote way back in high school. No, it's not fully developed, I didn't have any friends to practice the phonetics. Doubtful it'll ever be complete, I've since forgot my latin and spanish language classes I took, but it's enough to where I don't use English words on anything with text... I just put the English underneath if it's relevant to read.

And so we end 2014 on a high note. If there ever was such a thing as "busy light and shadow", I definitely found it at this stage. That's legit too much.

And so, we start off 2015. I'm unsure of what's in his hand here but maybe an explosive lego brick? Also, this is when I finally figure out colors. Less is more, as they say. And since the drawing of the character making the two finger gesture below, that's actually become an offensive hand sign in my world. Meant to be derogatory towards half of his people. So ya know, fun stuff.

He also fancy, look at him blending in with the background. I've yet to rediscover HOW I did this. Past me remains a mystery, as always.

Ah, and here's a chibi of one of my sweetest characters. He can't help it, one he's a kid, and two his parents are the absolute sweetest people there is, especially his mother parent. The storyline I'm currently working on though, he's not even a thought between his parents yet.

Then we have a medical professional, one of my favorite characters. Again, 2015. I'm getting better at anatomy structuring of them. In 2016, I lose a bit of this progress it seems.

And anotha one from 2015. One of the saddest backgrounds, she has.

She's currently undergoing a redesign. Despite being such a sad character though, her favorite color is a pastel yellow, one of the cheeriest colors ever.

So, didn't have much time to draw in 2016-2018. Life went sour, and while I've come to terms, I'm not into trauma dumping without someone saying its ight ya know? SO, my first ever character got himself a nice touch up here. And that was roughly about it for 2016. Also, gonna throw in my girl here. Her orange plating/skin color really didn't come through there, but we'll fix that at some point.

ANND this is it for 2016 and 2017. First ever character face comparison improvement though. Got quite the facelift in 2018.

2018 version.

Sorry about the day delay! Here's a link to the last piece I had in 2018. I noticed I posted some 2018 pieces in 2019, that's legit all I had on the last leg the laptop had I guess. Thought it completely died in 2018... but I had a lot going on around then, I was in a cast for a while and in immense pain so things are a bit hazy.

Ight, here's for 2022! Yea... quite the gap, I'm aware. And because of that, my once final designs have altered again so ya know, that's how it be. Top down, started with redesigning Kat, then Venris, and so on.

Here's a couple of members from the oldest societies in my story world. While these are likely not final, it's mainly to capture the theme of their culture through their armor and accessories, and highlight how different these two are. These two also have a lot in common, and while neither know it, one influenced the life of the other.

Four arms was done today, actually. Prepping to draw him in crack ship art because the Sims game I put my characters in shipped him with another OC and they're very happy together. Found it hilarious and sweet, even if that just wasn't canonically possible. So ya know, priorities. Needed to draw him anyways so, eh.

Tall guy is moreso the culture thing I mentioned, drew him a week after I got my new tablet.

This was supposed to be done and posted by halloween, this is progress that was saved on the 31st. Drew some characters dressed as the wolves from the Magnum Bullets by Nightrunner music video. The animation and storytelling is absolutely stellar in such a small amount of time to tell it.

Left to right: the Detective, the Captain, and the Doctor. I'll try to finish it when I nail down how to shade again and fix a couple hand poses. Don't know. But I make no promises. Been busy with other life things.

So, obviously things have changed very slightly for her doctor uniform. Obviously, colors are dulled. I think CSP butchered the values when converting to PNG but I did fix em. Might fix em a bit more. And I got around to figuring out shoes and unique hoods that better forms around the long ear pieces, audial panels, her race has. Her face was originally supposed to be mostly covered, as her culture dictates the face is to be covered always unless around family and/or very close friends. But I couldn't manage to figure it out back then. The green detail is to indicate that she's able to perform in any specialty of medicine, went through the very difficult process to get it so she wears it even though she don't got to.

Wish I could figure out how to make a picture like this smaller without destroying the image quality... hmm. A dilemma to be solved another time.

He's come a long way, so proud. Probably my final redesign of this year. To readjust to page formatting the way I want, I'm thinkin of doin a few small backstory comics. One with this short king, and a couple with other background characters. I'll see if it works with posting here, if anyone is interested. Again though... his themes in particular are rather... yea. I'll perhaps ask at a later date when I settle on what part of his background to do a small comic about.

I figured I might as well post this here as well. It's from early 2018, made for a couple old art buddies who really wanted to know how I made my character's eyes on a now defunct discord I was part of. I recommend changing the hues rather than just the values and saturation like past me did here. Makes for a better look in my opinion.

Also, if using Clip Studio Paint, Luminosity is Add or Add (Glow). Multiply is still the same across programs.

The undetailed, unlined to be posted final concept of this character that's soon to be posted. He has a small part to play in the story I'm currently working on for my world, but mainly this guy is a theme antagonist, as I like to call him (mere mention of his name makes people quiet down and causes unease as an example of what I mean), and a future main antagonist in another storyline.

I'm doing some of the theme characters that have had strong influences over my world's society, and thus a lot of my more central characters that have more spotlight time are influenced by them as a result.

Did for a discord daily challenge, theme was Statue. Was meaning to do this forever of the first four historical figures in my world, but ya know... stuff happens. I didn't completely finish by days end unfortunately, so I threw basic color onto it and added a tad bit of contrast in the few minutes I had left of the day.

Ah, these siblings... I'm very thankful none of my siblings are at all like a single one of em.

I can draw human proportioned things, for the most part. Human faces will always be difficult, which is funny considering each character I have has different facial features.

Doing some practice, foreshortening and human proportion stuff. To end the session, found one I liked and it resembled this... Draw Yourself? thing I did ages back in the day when looking at the head. Did a redesign, and threw on what I was wearing onto it. And then some crosshatching attempt nonsense happened and yea. By no means complete so it has its flaws, was just having some fun with it.

Messing around with cell shading, still getting the hang of it. He's still a historic theme character, in future stories, but he's main main protagonist in the current main comic I been planning. Almost done with previous theme guy, found issue with animation potential so had to dial back some of the details and figuring out his pose was a bit of a trial.

Side by side of 2 of the 3 generals of this specific race and government within my world. While General Prince on the right here prefers on the ground assaults, his childhood best friend of the Amythyst House here on the left preferred her atmosphere and space assaults instead. Her larger wing span made it painful to traverse the ground on planets with higher gravity during the war. And no, despite what you think, it is he who's abnormally large in size whereas she's actually slightly above average height.

She was the first of the trio I made a while back, because she's one of the parents of a future beloved character I have. I kept a piece of her old design, and based all their designs off of her.

And my horrific history child is now complete! I could have rendered further but it's just a character ref, so yea He will be posed with two of the other generals that he's a part of. I now have meself a Twitter again, had LOTS of people wishing to follow me recently in a discord art server stream.

So I remade it, for however much longer the hellsite has breath. I will have the link in my profile page for those interested.

Doodling with other people is a hilarious time! Just when you think you're gonna draw your guy reaching for a sword, someone puts in a tragic love story and adds a dummy thicc booty to it, completely changing the context. I don't think I've ever had as much fun before just doodling. I have one more here to post. These are just doodles, but this lower one is the first time I've ever drawn the character so I wish to save it.

Also never drawn this character before, in a shared canvas with others. The program is a little simplistic, I'd not recommend trying to use it as your primary drawing program or something. But you can work with it for doodles. His prosthetics here are really barebones, I've gotta concept them more.

Ah, my apologies for taking a while between posts! Have a concept design, or two, of the scientist whose research directly contributed to the end of the war in my world. Unfortunately, things for him didn't go over too well during his research and now he's confined to a suit outside his special bedroom in his lab. Aiming for him to be a bit taller however.

Look what I found in the deep, dark recesses of a USB drive. Appears this is from 2014-2015, when I finally found a focus for my characters.

I had an idea for the design of the main detective, but the fellow detective? Only idea I had in mind for her, Detective Venris, was that she was taller. I figured maybe she'd be the main city's demographic majority race, but... that didn't feel quite right for her whole vibe. Later figured she'd be a combination of a couple colony races, adopted by someone from a homeworld race and raised in the city. Much better fit for what I wanted her to be. The outfits are thermal suits to trap heat, but also to not let things get too hot since robots and all need temperature management. Also helps keep things from bunching up around critical joints for ease of movement.

The background, I THINK, was my attempt at the lighting thrown off by something called the Skymast, a large skyscraper sized device used to keep the artificial moon in an ideal orbit since this planet doesn't have a star and has gravitational issues. The moon has a similar device that casts a beam of red every 4 or so months when the moon is passing over its adjacent device to course correct. During and after this connection, it pours what's basically mercury from the sky. Yea... no idea why the planet is barren and dead at all. Or why those from the homeworld have to wear sealed suits if they're to set foot on any other world... not at all.

Blue Sea was also the working title... might change it, might not. Historical events and tragedies mentioned and having shaped the world this takes place in though, it's likely I may keep it. We'll see.

I truly love that orange and blue palette, the colors look so good together.
