I haven't scouted anyone because it's either...

1. They have already been scouted long before I stood a chance to scout them.
2. I feel like scouting takes great responsibility, and I hate for my decision to backfire badly because I end up making the wrong choice.
3. I will admit that I might or might not have high standards and/or look for specific art styles that might affect my decision to scout.

I check in undiscovered every once in a while to see if I find any gems.

I used to subject myself to that sporadically, but the unscouted portal is super traumatizing. It’s full of all sorts of horrifying fetishes, stuff that goes too far and isn’t even properly rated most of the time.

I usually scout musicians if I like their sound good enough but I rarely go in the audio portal anymore because it’s getting harder to figure out Ai generated songs. And yes I help out with cleaning up the audio portal.

Well... For one, I don't really scout people in the first place, because I feel like you HAVE to work your ass to get it in the first place, like either you have the skills to make quality art OR you don't. It shouldn't be something that's given away like a gift, it's like a badge in a way, a ribbon to award. Second of all, I don't really have the time to investigate whether or not someone should be given scouting. I'm more or less developing shit and said shit requires art, so naturally, I focus my art in it. I really don't know how scouting works and I don't really pay attention to me being scouted. Hell, I don't even know the benefits of BEING scouted in the first place.

Can't you just report them? Granted, you're not supposed to report art portal submissions in the forums (Because it's an exception to the rule and nobody wants to be victimized in an AI witchhunt.), but at least try your best with helping the portal by filtering out people that break the submissions. I don't know what exactly are these "stuff that goes too far" but if it's illegal in the Art Portal's guidelines, then just go for the whistle. Albeit, to be fair, most people who wanna farm whistle points likely don't whistle in the Art portal, it's usually in the Games, Movies, and Audio portal.

I used to scout people a lot, nevertheless about effort, but now. I scout people only with good quality and not a shitpost or MS Paint made thingies for 1 min.

ive only scouted one artist thusfar-- i try to follow new artists on occasion if i see potential so that i can scout them when i see their quality is consistent, but someone usually scouts them first.

Just going to respond to both of these to clear up how making bad/questionable Scouts works.

You will not be descouted for making bad scouts. If you have a lot of bad/questionable/borderline quality scouts you will probably lose your scouting privileges. You will not be descouted for any reasons that aren’t either breaking the Art submission guidelines, or not meeting the quality threshold of the art portal (keep in mind nsfw art is held to a higher standard than sfw)).

Also to clear up Narratorway’s confusion with some users in the Undiscovered section not having the “scout this person” button: that is due to them having been descouted and not being eligible to scouted again. If you feel strongly that their Art is scoutworthy PM me and I’ll look into their art and initial reason for descouting and put them back into the eligible scouting pool if they pass the check.

To answer the question of the thread itself: I think I’ve had like four or five scouts ever, and I think three of them have deleted their accounts. I’m not very quick on the draw with the scouting.

I used to obsessively go in and find new people to scout, report stolen stuff or stuff not rated correctly, but once I hit college age I stopped. I managed to get 500-600 I think? And upgraded my whistle
