'Cause breaking up is hard to do

As the game stands, there's no point to splitting. I mean, when you're big, your essentially invincible (except for viruses). You just have to wait for your enemies to split to eat them.

If you split, you make yourself vulnerable and your teammate usually is so stupid that he gets himself eaten. So.... You get smaller, the enemy gets an extra meal and gets bigger... Why did we split again? Oh, yeah, because there are powerups that use your teammates. But more often than not, they get killed before you can use them. And if they do stay alive, it's usually because they're far away from the enemies - meaning they're not in a good position to stun or explode.

I'd probably change the game so that the splitting is involuntary - once you get so big, you automatically split. Then splitting wouldn't be a useless powerup - it would be a greater part of the strategy of the game.
