This is the official SFM crew.

This crew is for those who use SFM, or are fans of those who use SFM.
We will show some of our projects, and critic/review others.
Provide some tips and tricks for certain effects or projects.
Show off some of our posters.
Help out each other if someone is experiencing difficulties with SFM.
Maybe even develop a project as a collaboration.

What is SFM?
ItâEUTMs an 3D animation program developed by Valve. It was mainly used by the company to make their videos.
Such as the Team Fortress 2 Meet the Team videos. Or the Left 4 dead intro video.
The main game that works with SFM is TF2.

Why not have this in the TF2 Crew?
ItâEUTMs possible for other game models to be imported and animated in SFM.
Besides, its not really a TF2 game, more or less a TF2 animation program.

How do I get it?
First get a steam account, and download it here.

How much is it?
ItâEUTMs free.

Rules:
1: DonâEUTMt spam a page with several post of your videos. If you have more then one to show, provide them all in one post. Or provide a link to your Youtube channel.
2: You are welcome to ask for help when you are having an issue, but before hand try to see if the solution has already been found.
3: No trolling.
4: No flaming.
5: No spamming.
Pretty much the usual as far as threads go.

Enjoy your stay.

I am sorry for that post, I don't understand why it got screwed up like that.

Currently still trying to figure it out, so I dont have anything to show yet.
Though I have been watching some of the stuff others have made on Youtube, and its pretty amazing. This is one awesome piece of software!

Awww yeahh, as soon as the new month starts I'm gonna download it and attempt to make some cool animations!
It'll take a lot of practice though.
Gosh, but so worth it in the end.

A lot of people are in the same situation.
I've made 2 videos so far.

I wonder how we can get the regular items + load multiple maps on one project.

I had a great idea, but, unfortunately, my computer spec. are not enough for it to run. The part where you were supposed to see the map... it's all black :/

My art Thread, prepare to get your eyes burned!

It's possible to import models, if that's what you're after?

You did load the map right? If you're computer could run TF2 it should be able to run SFM.
My computer isn't the best, but it still runs it pretty well.
Just has a really low frame count when I first start it, and then it smooths out after a while.
Not the best, but still workable.

Downloading it right now, since I have a new hard drive with lots of space. I dunno if I'll be any good with it or not, but I suppose I'll upload some kinda bullshit.

Yes, I am aware that people can import those models.
But I've seen people able to use the items in game, the items that aren't part of the default layout that is.

I've got the same problem, but TF2 works fine on my computer so I'm not sure what the problem is. It says that the map is locked whenever I press F11. Oh well, I was never good at animation software anyway.

Glides is done with his post.

They most likely imported the models.

Also, no. You have to do import > sequence > choose, for example wrangler's idle animation, then import animation set for new element, choose wrangler and lock it to engie's hands.

So, I finally got SFM to install yesterday. And frankly I'm stumped. Anyone here knows a good tutorial (besides the Valve ones)?

Seriously? Everything. From the interface, to loading maps/models, and all the stuff.
One thing though, when I load a project (Meet The <class name> projects), it takes quite a while to load + it's laggy when I play it back.
