I used to render down bacon fat and use that to make my popcorn in a big pot, then top it with cheddar cheese, salt, and garlic.

The trick is to heat the oil on high and toss in 3 test kernels. When the oil is hot enough to pop the test kernels nice and fluffy, cover the bottom of the pot in a layer two kernels deep and take it off the heat either when all the kernels have popped or the popcorn starts burning. when I get pins, I put them in my unmodified tub lined with wet alkaline pearlite (I use pickling lime and calcium carbonate to ensure sterile alkalinity) to provide 100% humidity.

People say you have to fan and mist twice a day, but I find every two days to work just fine. Simply flipping the lid on the tub will provide plenty of fresh air exchange (sometimes referred to as FAE). I also use a bed sheet wrapped around the tub and tied off with a shoestring to avoid contamination with fungus loving gnats which can contaminate your grow.

Over the next three to five days, your pins will develop into potent psychedelic mushrooms, which can either be enjoyed fresh in doses between 20-40 grams, or dried in doses between 2-4 grams. Dried mushrooms generally weigh 1/10 of fresh mushrooms.

Loosely grind or grate your mushrooms, and place in an acidic solution of lemon juice and water to extract the active alkaloids. Hot water is not necessary, as hot water will extract inactive compounds that will not improve the quality of the extraction.

Regular lemonade flavored kool aid will do an excellent job of providing acidity, although fresh lemon juice or lime juice is commonly used.

Sugar should be added separately to avoid buffering the extraction and making it less efficient.

The general rule is 8-12 ounces of water for each extracted dose. it's my general preference to use half gallon containers for amounts less than 5 doses, as one pack of koolaid makes half a gallon.

As the psilocin is extracted, the solution will gain a blue tint, which added to the yellow lemonade, often results in a green color.

Though not 100% reliable, the darkening is a good measurement of how much psilocin you have extracted.

Some guides claim the extraction takes only 15 minutes, but I find steeping for up to an hour extracts more active alkaloids.

strain out the solids with a coffee filter, sweeten to taste, and serve.

I highly suggest setting up a second extraction before imbibing, as the first extraction can leave as much as 20% of the active alkaloids in the solids. This second extraction is perfect for extending the effects of the initial dose after you've regained enough of your sensibilities to imbibe it.
